A common question that plagues most windows users till date is  "Why does my Windows take so long to boot up?" Fret not,for this is very common among pc users and happens sometimes even to the best of us.

This problem most predominantly plagues Windows 8 users.....Yet Windows  8 was designed for blazing fast startup speeds....But sadly, this iteration of the Windows OS also gets plagued by the treasure trove of apps and softwares available....Most of them have the tendency to load during boot and when there's too many apps loading on startup, your OS starts taking more time to load.

This article addresses this issue, and a handful of things can be done to improve your load times

NOTE:The following steps apply to Windows 7 and 8,and XP to an extent.

The "msconfig" method:

Open the run window by pressing Winkey +R or search "Run" in the search charm of your charms bar(Win 8).

Now as it opens go to the "boot" tab

Here in the "timeout" field instead of 30 seconds enter 3 as shown in the above pic and apply it.It's effectiveness is debatable as it only decreases the time win8 would wait before a full boot.

Next go to the "Services" tab.

Here you'll see a list of process that hog up system resources during boot. All you have to do to disable unwanted processes is uncheck the unwanted processes. However,it is recommended that you check the "Hide all Microsoft Services"  available near the OK button.Wouldn't want to deactivate some important service now...

After that, open task manager by the usual Ctrl+Alt+Delete method (after it pops up,click on startup tab) or click the "Startup" tab in msconfig window and click on the Task Manager link.

Now all you have to do is click on anything that  need not load during boot and click "disable" on the lower right corner of the window.

And that's all folks.Have a happy boot...
